INTERVIEW-
(1) Is legacy of mandrake from the main timeline of KFS or is it another dimension?
Ans-The Legacy of Mandrake series from 2020-21 that I wrote is in the main Mandrake canon. The ages of the characters had to be updated (Lothar and Derek, for example) in order to fit within Mandy's age range, but she is now part of canon. Like the title suggests, Mandragora, A.K.A. Mandy, is the next to take up the mantle of Mandrake the Magician.
(2)Do you plan to nake legacy of mandrake the magician volume 2?
Ans-I would love to create a second volume for Legacy of Mandrake. I have an idea of where the story could go. I haven't been contacted by King Features or Stonebot Comics to continue with the series, though. There are a lot of great possibilities to explore with a character of Mandy, especially since (SPOILER) we set up her admission to the College of Magic in the last issue.
(3)Are the events in legacy of mandrake sequel or prequel of defenders of the earth?
Ans-Considering the timeline, I would say that this is after Defenders of the Earth, so a sequel. I didn't have any plans on bringing in Kshin, Mandrake's adopted son in that series, but I'd be happy to explore any opportunity to play with these characters again.
(4)When did you start in making comic books?
Ans-I started writing comics professionally in 2008-09. At the time, I was working as a background artist and art assistant at a studio in New York City.
(5)What was your first story you ever did in your line of writing comics?
Ans-The first series I wrote was M3. I created it with artist Vicente AlcΓ‘zar. We completed 12 issues of that story, and it won Best Comic Book at the Burbank International Film Festival in 2012. Since then, I've worked with Marvel on Daredevil, DC on Hawkgirl, Dynamite on Xena Warrior Princess, Charmed, and some of their non-television properties like Kato, Masquerade, Lady Zorro, and The Black Sparrow. In 2020, two books I wrote got a total of six Ringo Award nominations. The first title was Strange Tails, an anthology with artist Claire Connelly and colorists Gab Contreras, Matt Emmons, and Liana Kangas. That was nominated for Best Anthology. The second title was Forgotten Home which was nominated for Best Series, Best Cover Artist (Natasha Alterici), Best Inker (Marika Cresta), Best Letterer (Cardinal Rae), and Best Writer (me). That's a tough act to beat, but we hope to do it with the current book coming out later this year called The Deadliest Bouquet. It was successfully funded on Kickstarter last month, and Carola Borelli and Gab Contreras are the line artist and color artist respectively.
(6)Do you want to write any stories on Lee Falk's phantom?
Ans-If given the chance, I'd love to write a story centered on Lee Falk's Phantom. I think many of those old characters are fun to revisit and update.
Thank Ms.Erica Schultz to except our interview request.....
That's all for this post.
